The biggest reason may be is, they are using them for a different purpose intended. I promise if you wear these babies while riding your lawn mower or using other power equipment you will be amazed at how effective they are. My son likes to ride when I am cutting the lawn and he wears them as well. I feel much better knowing that these protect our hearing. You hear only a low muffled hum of the lawn equipment.
