The Casio AP420, seemed to fit the bill, and having played other Casio digital pianos in my local music store (PX800, PX330, AP200), I was fairly confident in making this purchase from Amazon, sight-unseen.The mangled box arrived in less than a week, looking like it had fallen off the truck or had been used for target practice. I was almost afraid to look inside. Fortunately, the engineers who designed the packaging did a marvelous job. Every piece was removed from the box in perfect condition. This January it stopped working, I couldn't turn it on. In March it worked miraculously. In May it stopped working. Yesterday, it started working again. This is bad because I will need to wait for it to fail working again to send it in for repair. When it didn't work, I tried everything the technician on phone taught me. My last option was to send it in for repair, but to ship this item with a declare value of $1000 USPS will charge me 150-250USD for the most basic ground shipping, and I have to bear the cost to ship it in. Casio has a number of service locations, but they are all outsourced (not opened by Casio itself) and their services are inconsistent. I live in San Francisco, it surprises me that I'm facing all these difficulties to even try to get it fixed.
